About

Hello, welcome to OsteoPilates Cheltenham!   Thank you so much for visiting my website.  Here is a bit of background about me :-),

I have been practicing Osteopathy for nearly 19 years now and teaching Pilates for over 12.    Before that I was working in marketing in Hong Kong when a random water skiing accident changed everything!

The injury I sustained went untreated at the time and it was only when I really was struggling with walking correctly and unable to run, that I sought the correct help. It meant having significant rehabilitation.    As a result of this I realised how much we take things for granted with our body and it doesn’t take too much for things to get  a little out of kilter   Even more so the importance of addressing these issues as soon as possible!   It led me to an interest in human mechanics and a passion for structural health.   So much so, that I decided to embark on a complete career change – moving back to the UK to train as an Osteopath at the British School of Osteopathy in London (now known as the University College of Osteopathy) where I obtained an honours degree.

It was the best decision I ever made! I graduated in 2001 and have been committed to helping others achieve more movement and mobility and relieving their pain.  As an Osteopath I found that both myself and my colleagues were regularly encouraging patients to take up Pilates as we could see the added benefits.  For me I found Pilates to be an important adjunct to manual therapy and in 2008 I went on to train formally with Pilates Training Solutions,  I have subsequently carried out  training with the APP! (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Association) and now teach classes and one to one sessions alongside my Osteopathic practice.

As a population, we are living longer than ever before and I feel passionately about taking measures to look after our future selves.  As Joseph Pilates himself said ‘If your spine is inflexibly stiff at 30, you are old; if it is completely flexible at 60, you are young.’  I believe that through Osteopathy, Postural alignment, Pilates or a combination of all three I can help you improve your posture, become leaner, stronger, more flexible and help you to feel better – both physically and mentally.   Future-proof your body and capacity for pain-free movement in the years to come.
