Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together (GoSC). It is a natural medicine which aims to restore function in the body by treating the cause of pain and imbalance.

The body is miraculous in the way it can cope as we challenge it with the stresses and strains of everyday life but sometimes it needs a little help. By maintaining the body structurally and working to relax or straighten things out it can begin to look after itself and work in a more efficient way.

Osteopathy is suitable for people of all ages. Our approach is to assess each patient individually and choose the most suitable treatment for them. Treatment includes manipulation, articulation, stretching, massage and cranial to increase the mobility of joints and relieve muscle tension to help your body’s own healing mechanisms.

Osteopathy can help with:

  • back pain
  • spinal and joint problems
  • muscular tension
  • nerve related problems
  • persistent pain

  • occupational and repetitive strain injuries
